The Maroondah Toy Library team is expanding! Our busy toy library is seeking motivated session coordinators to oversee our Saturday sessions.
Maroondah Toy Library is a not-for-profit, volunteer-run community organisation which has been operating since 1979. We currently loan toys to over 500 families from all over eastern Melbourne - not just from Maroondah! We have a range of over 4000 quality toys, games, activities, and more that support the education and development of children aged 0-6 years. The library is open for borrowing four days a week throughout the year (including school holidays).
As Toy Library Coordinator, you will be responsible for the operation of our Saturday borrowing sessions, providing friendly and confident customer service to our large membership group. You will not only facilitate borrowing of toys, but also create a welcoming environment and support our members with toy selection based on child development, interests, and skills. You will maintain high standards of quality, safety, and cleanliness. This will include performing regular toy safety assessments, cataloging, record keeping and stocktake. In addition, as Coordinator, you will supervise and train a diverse team of volunteers who are there to assist you during the session.
To be successful in this role you should possess:
Previous experience in a Toy Library/Library, non-profit organisation, or Early Years Education are desirable but not essential. Flexibility to cover occasional shifts during the week will be highly regarded.
