The Stroke Liaison Nurse (SLN) is the clinical lead of the acute stroke unit and stroke service within the organisation, this role is responsible for providing expert clinical support and stroke education to patients, carers and clinical staff. The SLN is responsible for liaising with both internal and external stakeholders relevant to the stroke patients' care, to ensure best practice care is achieved and maintained. The development and review of stroke care pathways and timely management of local and national stroke databases are also key responsibilities for this role.
