Marymead is a well-respected, community based, not-for-profit organisation that has provided a range of support services to children, young people and their families since 1967. Marymead now operates throughout the southern and western regional areas of NSW as well as the ACT with offices in Goulburn, Wagga Wagga, Young, Moruya and Canberra. Marymead is seeking to fill the position outlined below.

Role Description

Marymead are excited to soon be commencing The Revival Program which will deliver services in the Eurobodalla Local Government Area to strengthen community and build social cohesion and wellbeing. The Revival Program will be delivered in consultation with the Eurobodalla community and we are now searching for a Community Development and Support Worker to support the establishment and ongoing delivery of the Revival program across Eurobodalla.

This newly created position will deliver a range of services to strengthen the wellbeing of the community including the delivery of groups including social, cultural, physical health and well-being activities, reflecting the diversity of the community and its needs. The position will also work with families and individuals in an integrated model of child and family services to build parenting self-care and relationship skills.

This position is a part time (3 days / week) on a 3 month contract to commence ASAP.

The ideal person for this position will ideally possess:

  • Experience working with and engaging with local communities or designing and leading groups. Experience working within a community development framework would be advantageous.
  • Tertiary qualifications in community development, community services, youth, mental health, education or related fields are desirable however are not essential
  • Demonstrated stakeholder management skills with strong communication skills
  • NSW Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain)
