More about the role:

We're looking for a maximum-term contractor (12 months), who will be responsible for supporting the PR and Media team in day-to-day execution of earned media and communication programs.

The key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Support the PR & Media team to ensure consistent and effective communication of the Foundation’s goals and initiatives
  • Identify opportunities to proactively promote the Foundation through earned media
  • Manage the PR efforts for a range of Foundation initiatives including Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Pink Test and International Nurses Day
  • Work alongside the team to support press office activity and manage media issues as and when they arise
  • Assist in the development and production of communication materials distributed by the Foundation and ensure the voice of the Foundation is consistent and accurate
  • Track, measure and evaluate results generated by the media and PR team
  • Ensure the Foundation’s position as an ethical and responsible charity is demonstrated externally

Who we are looking for:

For this role, we are looking for a mix of the following experience, qualifications, and skills:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in communications, PR or marketing field
  • Minimum 6-8 years’ experience in a PR agency or in-house PR and communications role
  • Proven track record of securing national, metro and consumer media coverage
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate and maintain strong media contacts
  • Experienced at developing PR plans and media strategies
  • A creative thinker with a talent for developing unique media angles
  • Strong editorial writing skills with an ability to develop engaging content
  • Self-motivated, strong project management skills and deadline focused
  • Experience working with PR agencies
  • Strong stakeholder and relationship management skills
