  • Identified Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Role

We are looking for a Community Health Education & Communications Officer (an Indigenous- identified position) to join the Centre for Population Genomics at the Melbourne Children’s Research Institute (MCRI).

Are you experienced at communicating with people, explaining health or science topics, and managing communications across social media, email, and other platforms? Are you interested in working collaboratively with diverse cultural and language communities? Come join us at the Centre for Population Genomics, a joint initiative of the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute and the Garvan Institute of Medical Research. The position requires no previous knowledge of genomics - we’ll teach you that. We are looking for experience in communications (including social media), community-based work (possibly including co-design), and an enthusiasm for talking and writing about health and science.

On offer is a three-year full-time contract, with possibility of extension. The position is based in Melbourne, but we will consider remote working at this time.

If you think you have what it takes, but don't necessarily meet every single point in the selection criteria, please still get in touch. We'd love to have a chat and see if you could be a great fit.
