Your Opportunity:

Generation Victoria (GenV) is a world-first initiative aiming to transform the whole of the State of Victoria into a single dynamic solutions platform, breaking down barriers in research to solve pressing questions and translating that into tangible actions that can improve the health, development and well-being of children and their parents. GenV is open to babies born in Victoria over a two year period. One of the world’s largest birth cohorts, GenV will be open to all 160,000 babies born in Victoria over two full years. GenV is implementing a solution architecture that includes support for participant engagement, consent and management, data and biosample collection and storage, and a de-identified solutions hub available to researchers. The Business Analyst collaborates with relevant GenV business, operations and technology stakeholders, providing business, functional and system analysis to support the successful delivery of the MCRI GenV program. They will work as part of a team, but have independent responsibility for ensuring system capability reflects business needs. The Business Analyst is results driven, will take initiative and has experience working collaboratively in an agile delivery environment

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Facilitating workshops with business and technology stakeholders to understand features and elicit and document associated business processes, user journeys and requirements.
  • Decomposing prioritised features into EPICs and User Stories to support iterative delivery of functional capabilities.
  • Documenting acceptance criteria using BDD (Behavioural Driven Development).
  • Working with delivery team to ensure EPIC and User Stories are understood, are aligned with solution architecture and technical design and can be estimated.
  • Supporting the delivery team to remove obstacles and identify pragmatic ways to generate outcomes.
  • Working closely with business stakeholders to effectively manage changes in priority, scope and requirements.
  • Performing ad-hoc analysis using a range of techniques to clarify and remove obstacles to delivery and improve delivery speed.

Selection Criteria:

  • 5+ years BA experience including business and functional requirements elicitation and systems analysis.
  • Experience in Agile and Scrum delivery teams in the role of Business Analyst.
  • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management, with the ability to collaborate with and influence key stakeholders and teams.
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills in listening, clarifying, questioning, and summarising to build shared understanding.
  • Familiar with tools for User Journey mapping and business process flows.
  • Curious growth mindset, open to learning and feedback.
  • A driver of outcomes over outputs.
  • Background in working in research or health sector preferred.
