The Opportunity:

The Melbourne Children’s Global Health initiative has an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Fellowship. This role is for an early career researcher with high potential to establish an independent research career in global child and adolescent health. The Fellowship aims to facilitate collaborative research in one of the existing priority research areas for Melbourne Children’s Global Health - vaccines, public health and clinical care and education.

In addition, you will contribute to Melbourne Children’s Global Health engagement in evidence-based policy development and government relations by supporting the MCGH Engagement Working Group. This role will be offered with the generous support of the Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation.

Your Responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting ethical research at the highest level of integrity and in line with the Australian Code for Responsible Conduct of Research and MCRI policies
  • Undertaking high calibre competitive research
  • Has successfully written and continues to submit grant and ethics approval applications
  • Attracting external competitive funding and has a record of high quality publications, research impact and peer recognition

About You:

  • Relevant PhD/Doctoral qualification or evidence of submission of PhD thesis (to be provided with the full application)
  • Up to 3 years postdoctoral experience (relative to opportunity) and appropriate level of expertise gained from a combination of experience, training or professional accreditation
  • Potential to make a significant contribution to advancing knowledge in global child and adolescent health
