About the Opportunity

MDS is seeking a dynamic General Manager - Community Services and Supported Living. This role will support MDS to implement best practice operational management strategies and support the executive to meet the strategic directions of MDS.

Key Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Manage and direct the operational requirements for MDS within the portfolio area' of: 
    • Allied Health and Positive Behaviour Management Supports
    • Support Coordination
    • Supported Accommodation
    • Individual Supports within the community
    • SLES (Pathways to employment)
    • Supported Employment
    • Children, Youth and Aged Care Social and Individual Supports
  • Provide a leadership role in the development of services within the CSS department; having a key role in the management of people, finances and stakeholders, formulation of organisational policies, operational plans and corporate strategies.

The successful applicant will have:

  • A detailed understanding of sector issues (National Disability Insurance Scheme, Royal Commission /, aged care reforms)
  • Exceptional relationship building skills. Somebody who can coach and develop executive senior managers
  • An ability to construct and implement operational initiatives
  • Experience working with CEO, COO and members of executive
  • A successful track record of change management and staff engagement initiatives
  • Experience and understanding in contractual, legal, governance and legislative requirements (Risk management, QA, WH&S frameworks, and the requirements of the NDIS Quality Safeguards Commission)
  • Knowledge of financial and people management strategies
  • Qualifications and extensive experience in Management and/or Disability Services/ related discipline
  • NSW Drivers License and a reliable vehicle
  • Covid-19 Vaccination (3 x doses)
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module
  • NDIS Worker Clearance Number
  • Working with Children Check
