The Position

The Senior Administration Officer will provide high-quality general administrative and operational support to the Quality and Participant Experience Division as well as specific executive administration support to the Chief Quality and Participant Experience Officer. In addition, this position will provide focussed research administrative assistance to the General Manager Practice and Safeguards to enable effective execution of Melba’s research activities.

Our Ideal Candidate will have:

  • Extensive, minimum five years’ experience, working in a senior administrative support role, preferably in a disability, community, health, or similar social service environment.
  • Well-developed digital literacy/computer skills with proficiency at the intermediate to advanced level in the use of information technology including Microsoft Office Suite, virtual meeting platforms and corporate information systems and databases, such as SharePoint.
  • Excellent attention to detail, ability to follow process and a commitment to producing high quality work on time.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, customer-centric focus, and ability to form effective working relationships with colleagues, management and external bodies.
  • High level verbal and written communication skills including the ability to draft routine correspondence, minutes, reports, emails and other documents.
  • High level organisational and time management skills including a proven ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to all tasks to meet the changing demands of the role (willingness to take ownership of tasks) and the ability to contribute to a team-orientated environment.
  • Ability to manage data efficiently and accurately with an aptitude for interpreting and reporting information appropriately.
  • Efficient problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision, be self-directed and self-motivated.
  • Proven ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality

  • Current unrestricted Australian Driver’s Licence
  • The right to work in Australia
  • A roadworthy and insured vehicle for use for work purposes
  • Mobile device with internet connectivity and a web browser for work related purposes
  • Capacity to wear Personal Protective Equipment including a mask, eye protection and gloves at certain times when directed
  • COVID-19 Vaccination certificate
