MCM (Melbourne City Mission) is a leading community services organisation that innovatively works alongside thousands of Victorians and their communities to overcome barriers experienced through Homelessness, Early Years, Disability, Palliative care, Early Childhood Intervention Services and Education. With deep experience working with communities experiencing disadvantage, MCM advocates for systemic change, working across all sectors to sustainably disrupt such disadvantage.

The Quality Assurance, Risk and Safety (QASR) team plays a key role in leading the development of organisational QASR policies, management systems, strategies, resources and expertise to internal stakeholders. The team supports programs and services to achieve their objectives and comply with the required standards and legislation.

The Head of Quality Assurance, Safety & Risk will lead, continually improve and drive the organisation’s risk and assurance programme to achieve organisational objectives, inclusive of working towards zero harm and risk treatment plans that place the consumer and the employee at the centre and also meets the need of a variety of federal and state funders and regulators/ions.

Skills and experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent demonstrated experience leading QASR for complex organisations with multiple human services regulatory standards. Clinical and/or allied health qualification will be highly regarded.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, accreditation standards and risk management processes in a health/human services environment
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience of governance processes for clinical and practice effectiveness
  • Strong project management experience with capacity to develop and implement clear project plans and deliver outcomes that meet quality, cost and time specifications
