About the role

The Senior Manager, Community Services role is an integral role in the Disability Services Leadership team. With 8 direct reports and around 75 indirect reports your key areas of focus will be:

  • Leading the Support Coordination and Customer Service functions to achieve required business and service objectives and outcomes.
  • Overseeing, managing and further developing the Customer Service ‘entry’ point into Disability Services within MCM.
  • Leading and engaging with all operational areas to provide an integrated approach to customer service including integrated intake processes, marketing of services/products, exploration of service models, etc.
  • Supervising and supporting teams of staff with the competencies required to deliver defined services and products.
  • Driving change, providing strategic direction to the portfolio and contributing to the development of strategic planning for MCM as part of the Disability Services Senior Leadership Team.
  • Representing MCM in senior sector leadership positions and forums.
  • Measuring and evaluating outcomes of services and products delivered (measured against quality and financial indicators).
  • Actively engaging, reporting, advocating and partnering with the NDIA, service providers and government Departments as appropriate.

Skills and experience

Essential:

  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline.
  • Significant and proven experience and a record of achievement in managing the delivery of health and human services and support services to people with disability.
  • Demonstrated effective people leadership including the management of workplace culture, performance issues, complaints and issues.
  • Advanced knowledge of the disability industry, relevant legislation, regulations, standards and industry trends.
  • An ability to engage stakeholders in developing and maintaining strong working relationships and gaining their participation around key decisions and initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience to set and manage service budgets with a knowledge of financial principles and how to put these into practice.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to negotiate complex matters and resolve conflict.
