ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Specialist Eating Disorder clinician will focus to improve access and provision of support and treatment for consumers experiencing an eating disorder. The Specialist role will further provide a standard of high clinical care and workforce development across the mental health services. It is a wonderful opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary community mental health team, providing recovery framework of care to consumers experiencing mental health issues and psychosocial problems The team peruses excellence to provide an accessible high quality service to the rapid growing, diverse Wyndham community. Located within walking distance to an Aquatic centre and the Werribee Plaza

  • Permanent Part-time position, three day per week, business hours
  • Registered Psychiatric Nurse 4 or Allied Health 3
  • Based at Wyndham Clinic, Hoppers Crossing
  • Provide specialist eating disorders assessments and formulation for MMH consumers to guide treatment planning
  • Provide time limited evidence based interventions
  • Strengthen and develop pathways for interagency collaboration within Mercy Mental health and external stakeholders
  • A welcoming, supportive, dedicated high performing team
  • Opportunity to gain further experience as a Senior clinician.

ABOUT YOU:

  • Registered Nurse with AHPRA and a Bachelor degree in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing or equivalent, or, Bachelor of Nursing plus a Postgraduate qualification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing, or
  • An approved degree in Social Work and eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers, or
  • An approved degree in OT/Psychology and registration under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation National Law Act (2009) with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia / Psychology Board of Australia
  • Previous experience working with consumers with an eating disorder diagnosis
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Mercy Mental Health (South West Area Mental Health Service) is a public mental health service supporting people in south west metropolitan Melbourne with severe and complex mental illnesses by providing acute and community-based care. Services are available to adults through acute inpatient programs, residential rehabilitation programs and crisis and community recovery-focused treatment programs. We also deliver inpatient and community specialist perinatal mental health services to women and infants in western Victoria.
