The Family Foundations Intake Practitioner has a dual role within the program providing various intake functions as well as high quality, relationship strengthening and co-parenting education and support to a range of clients using the Family Foundations Model. The position requires a commitment to flexible working hours with some capacity for evening work

Your new role

As the Family Foundations Intake Practitioner you will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining an accessible, efficient and effective intake, information, assessment and referral service for the Family Foundations Program
  • Providing specialist expertise, advice, supportive counselling, triage, assessment and review.
  • Co-facilitation of the Family Foundations program to couples in their home or by a virtual platform
  • Building strong and robust community connections and linkages

What you’ll need to succeed

To be successful with Merri you will go above and beyond to achieve great results for our clients, the organisation and yourself. We’re looking for individuals with:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Welfare Work and/or Couples Counselling.
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise in intake and assessment functions.
  • Experience/knowledge of basic counselling, utilising a variety of intervention methods.
  • Demonstrated experience of working with and engaging vulnerable families with complex needs such as family violence, drug and alcohol and mental health issues.
  • Community and inter-agency relationship skills.
