Your new role

The School Readiness Clinician (Speech Pathology) position sits within the School Readiness Allied Health Program providing paediatric allied health capacity building programs to early childhood education and care services across North East Victoria and Northern Melbourne.

The School Readiness Allied Health Program is a program being funded by Department of Education, supporting kindergarten educators and the families in their centres to build their capacity to support young children’s learning in the areas of well-being and communication.

The role will be supported through collaboration with a broader paediatric allied health team, including Speech Pathologists, Psychologists and Occupational Therapists.

As a Speech Pathologist in the School Readiness Allied Health team you will be responsible for providing allied health support to kindergartens and to families in order to build the capability of kindergarten educators and families to support children through coaching, modelling, group training, case consultation support and other discipline specific services

What you’ll need to succeed

To be successful with Merri you will go above and beyond to achieve great results for our clients, the organisation and yourself. We’re looking for individuals with:

  • A graduate or post-graduate degree in Speech Pathology
  • Experience working in paediatric allied health, with experience working in a kindergarten setting an advantage
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team to develop and implement evidence-based programs that meet the goals and desired outcomes for children, families and educators
  • On openness to working in a capability building and coaching role with educators and families to promote skills and knowledge in child development
