About the role
Seeking experienced trauma informed Counsellors to join a dedicated team providing community services to victim survivors in Geelong.
Reporting to the Team Leader, you will deliver individual therapeutic counselling and advocacy to a diverse range of clients and their children and families.
Full-time and part-time opportunities available where you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable people in the community.
What you'll be doing
- Conducting one-on-one counselling sessions to help clients address a range of personal, emotional, and psychological issues
- Providing crisis intervention and advocacy services
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic, integrated approach to client care
- Maintaining detailed case notes and client records in accordance with professional standards
- Participating in regular supervision and professional development opportunities
What we're looking for
- Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Counselling, Psychology, or a related field
- Minimum 2 years' experience providing therapeutic counselling services
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Empathy, compassion, and a genuine desire to make a positive difference in people's lives
