About the Role

Metro Assist’s CALD focused Family Preservation Program (FPP) aims to improve outcomes for children, young people and families by ensuring they receive individually tailored, evidence-informed and culturally responsive services. The FPP works collectively to meet the needs of vulnerable CALD families with children and young people 0-17 years who need different timing, intensity and frequency of services as their circumstance change. 

The Family Preservation Coordinator is responsible for supervising and leading a small team of caseworkers to ensure best practice in case management, and ensure the program meets funding and service agreements. The role is also responsible for identifying and mitigating any risks to clients, staff and to the organisation and will undertake regular planning and service development with the team. SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Tertiary qualifications relating to family services (provide academic transcript or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated experience supervising a small interdisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated experience in facilitating and conducting case allocation, case conferencing, and case reporting.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop the capacity of team members in delivering best practice service delivery.
  • Demonstrated understanding of child-centred practices and the needs of children, families and people from culturally diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong understanding of and experience in working in partnership with local services, agencies and service networks.
  • Experience in organisation and facilitation of child and family educational programs, community events, and convening interagency meeting
  • Experience in data management, evidence gathering, and accurate reporting including  familiarity with DCJ reporting systems.
  • Possess current driver’s license and access to a vehicle with comprehensive insurance.

DESIRABLE SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Bilingual in a community language.
