Merri-bek Early Years Management is a not-for-profit organisation that is overseen by a Board of Management that manages seven kindergartens in the City of Merri-bek. The MEYM Board is made up of members drawn from the community and parent/carers of children attending MEYM kindergartens.

The MEYM Board meets monthly, either in person or remotely via zoom, from 6pm-7.30pm usually on the last Tuesday of each month. Occasionally there are additional meetings or tasks that need to be completed in between monthly Board meetings. Members are provided with Board papers a week prior to the meeting. The Board works closely with the MEYM General Manager, who oversees the strategic direction, financial position and operations of the organisation.

MEYM is currently looking to appoint three new Board members with relevant skills and experience preferable in accounting and finance and Human resources, however and person with professional skills interested in the position will be considered. Being part of the MEYM Board is a great opportunity to become involved at a high level with a high functioning organisation and contribute to a not for profit organisation dedicated to the provision of Kindergartens. If you are passionate about Early Childhood and children’s education you may just be the right fit for our Board.

Prospective Board members will be asked to provide a current Police Check and a Working With Children Check. An extensive and supportive onboarding process will be offered as well as an opportunity to attend a Board meeting. Mentoring with a current Board member is also an option.
