Mental Health First Aid(R) (MHFA(R)) is a national not-for-profit organisation focused on mental health training and research. Our core work is to develop MHFA courses, and train Instructors to deliver these courses to their communities or workplaces. Our courses are delivered across Australia and internationally.

About the role:

The Business Development and Engagement Manager will be responsible for overseeing the creation, planning and implementation of a business development and engagement plan for large, multi-national workplaces and priority industry settings. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in building an organisational profile and leading a successful team.

Key Attributes:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor an agreed annual portfolio plan and program of work with measurable outcomes
  • Maximise our current partnerships and relationships
  • Identify new opportunities within key industry bodies and workplaces to expand and grow awareness of MHFA and core course delivery
  • Work with the MHFA Executive Team and Program Managers on the development and implementation of workplace business development and engagement initiatives
  • Invest in strategic links and dialogue with key industry groups and networks that contribute to MHFA’s workplace engagement objectives
  • Represent MHFA in public speaking events and forums related to the workplace engagement area
  • Lead, develop and support the Workplace Engagement Team.

About the successful candidate:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business Management, Community Development, Marketing or Communications
  • A minimum of 5 years senior experience in business development, stakeholder relations and partnership management
  • Experience with a health service or not for profit is desirable
  • Demonstrated experience in securing and managing business development
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • An ability to lead, manage and motivate high performing teams.
