Street to Home provides support to individuals, couples and families experiencing chronic homelessness such as sleeping rough in public space or in cars move into long term housing with supports. This team embraces and applies a housing first framework by delivering an assertive outreach service to people who are sleeping rough and in their homes.

Micah Projects is running an ongoing casual recruitment pool for After-hours Support and Advocacy Workers to support people to:

  • Access/Maintain their tenancy
  • Be safe and comfortable within their home
  • Access support, social and health services
  • Empower and foster independence and interdependence through participation, and access to appropriate resources, opportunities and services.
  • Provide transport support to homes, diversionary centres, or other safe accommodation.

Hours of work for these positions can vary involving weekday, weekend, and night-time work. Availability across 24 hours/7 days a week is desirable. These positions are casual and are classified under the SCHADS Award 2010 – Level 2.

We are seeking candidates with the following skills & experience:

  • Demonstrated ability to support people from diverse backgrounds, as well as people who are marginalised and have complex support needs.
  • Relevant experience and or appropriate qualification including certificate, diploma and tertiary qualification.
  • Ability to work across a variety of shifts within a roster including after hours, weekends and public holidays.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain current and accurate records and plans, as well as use of IT systems including personal information and case management systems, data collection, word, email.
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificates.
  • Evidence of COVID-19 fully vaccinated status.
  • Positive Notice Working with Children Blue Card.
  • Ability to work in Australia.
