About the role

The CDS Team Leader will provide coaching and support to frontline employees and lead innovation and design of supportive structures for our direct support workforce, through group supervision models and training opportunities. This may also include a component of 1:1 support to participants to live a fulfilling and meaningful life in the community, where appropriate.

Team Leaders will facilitate effective working relationships within the sector, as well as between workers and participants, to help provide the most well-rounded support available for participants. Providing leadership and coaching to staff will be key to this role.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Direct Line Management of Disability Support Workers (DSW) including Casual and Part Time Staff, responsible for end to end staffing process including recruitment, on boarding, training, debriefing, supervision, mentoring, managing staffing lists and exiting outgoing staff
  • Responsible for delivering consistent growth in CDS hours each week across core and capacity building by ensuring service delivery is smooth
  • Designing and delivering quarterly training and group supervision model for Support Workers

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum Cert 4 in Disability, Mental Health or Individual Support.
  • Considerable experience in the same or similar role
  • An understanding of the Wellways Fellowship Community Recovery Framework
  • Understanding of the concept and practice of natural supports
  • Understanding of the NDIA and service models
  • An ability to work with culturally and linguistically diverse communities and individuals particularly the local indigenous community
