Mills Oakley

About Us

Everyday Justice is a not-for-profit law firm owned by Mills Oakley, one of Australia’s leading national law firms. Launched in January 2021, Everyday Justice provides free one-off legal advice, limited representation and full representation legal services to the ‘missing middle’ - people who require legal assistance but cannot obtain Legal Aid or access the legal system without incurring substantial financial hardship.

Everyday Justice assists with employment, tenancy, credit & debt, financial abuse, fines & infringements, human rights, wills & estates, climate change and public interest law matters. The firm uses innovative legal tech solutions to ensure it can deliver its legal services as effectively and efficiently as possible. More information about the firm can be found at https://everydayjustice.com.au

Everyday Justice partners with The College of Law, to offer a volunteer internship program for law graduates who are undertaking the Practical Legal Training (‘PLT’) program and have an interest in gaining legal experience in social justice and public interest matters. Internships are available in our Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Canberra offices.

Everyday Justice interns are an invaluable part of the team, assisting our legal team with client intake, legal research, drafting legal documents and policy submissions on relevant law reform issues. All interns undertake a comprehensive, ongoing training program covering all areas of Everyday Justice’s practice, as well as training on the practical skills needed to build a strong foundation for a career in the social justice or public interest law sector. In addition, interns have access to senior lawyers from Mills Oakley, who act as mentors throughout the internship program.
