Everyday Justice is a not-for-profit law firm owned by Mills Oakley, one of Australia’s leading national law firms. Launched in January 2021, Everyday Justice provides free one-off legal advice, limited representation and full representation legal services to the ‘missing middle’ - people who require legal assistance but cannot obtain Legal Aid or access the legal system without incurring substantial financial hardship.

Everyday Justice partners with The College of Law, to offer a volunteer internship program for law graduates who are undertaking the Practical Legal Training (‘PLT’) program and have an interest in gaining legal experience in social justice and public interest matters. Internships are available in our Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Canberra offices.
Everyday Justice interns are an invaluable part of the team, assisting our legal team with client intake, legal research, drafting legal documents and policy submissions on relevant law reform issues. All interns undertake a comprehensive, ongoing training program covering all areas of Everyday Justice’s practice, as well as training on the practical skills needed to build a strong foundation for a career in the social justice or public interest law sector. In addition, interns have access to senior lawyers from Mills Oakley, who act as mentors throughout the internship program.
Since Everyday Justice’s launch in January 2021, we have received a strong level of interest in our legal services and our national internship program.
To assist, we are looking for a motivated individual who can coordinate the recruitment, training and ongoing engagement of interns, as well as assist our team with a range of administrative tasks to ensure effective legal services support. The role will be fast-paced, dynamic and varied. The ideal candidate will have excellent time management, be hard working, have an ability to work autonomously and take initiative.

The role is part-time (2-3 days per week). The suitable candidate can be based at one of our offices in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth or Canberra. Everyday Justice will negotiate working hours suitable to both the ideal candidate and the firm.
