About the role

Mind Centres for health and wellbeing offer targeted range of supports and services that aim to maximise client recovery outcomes. They provide group education and learning, mentoring, education and vocational support, housing and linkage services, counselling, NDIS planning and access support delivered through Mind Recovery College. Operating in the context of local community the Mind Centres focus on supporting people to achieve their better life goals.

We are seeking a Community Mental Health Practitioner - Lead Practitioner - Family Engagement for a 9 month fixed term, part time (24 hours per week) opportunity in the Mind Centre, Gladstone. You will provide practice leadership and support to our team to deliver psychosocial rehabilitation, recovery programs and person-centred services to our clients, families and carers in line with Mind’s model of Recovery Oriented Practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support clients by delivering high quality service and facilitating positive educational and social experiences.
  • Assist clients to return to a place of residence and a meaningful life through a staged approach to recovery.
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team offering specialised psychosocial support.
  • Contribute to program planning as well as ensuring planned clinical appointments and reviews are coordinated and facilitated.
  • Collaborate with a range of services and the community to ensure a co-ordinated and integrated response to the client’s recovery goals.

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other health-related field.
  • Experience working directly with people with mental health issues, complex needs and interacting with families and carers.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a team to achieve quality service outcomes including experience in the provision of supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and prioritise to meet consumer service delivery requirements.
  • Understanding of the Community Services sector and ability to build strong relationships with agencies, clinical providers and key stakeholders.
