Mind Australia is one of the country’s leading community-managed specialist mental health service providers with a range of residential, mobile outreach, centre based and online services. We have been supporting people living with the day-to-day impacts of mental illness, as well as their families, friends and carers for over 40 years.
We provide practical and motivational support that helps people to develop the skills they need to move on, thrive and improve the quality of their lives. It’s an approach to mental health and wellbeing that looks at the whole person in the context of their daily life. Mind is committed to diversity and social inclusion.
The Sub-Acute short stay Adult Step-Up and Step-Down (ASUSD) program is delivered through partnerships with QLD hospital networks. Adults between the ages of 25-65 years are able to access specialist clinical mental health staff 24 hours a day whilst supporting connections with family and friends as well as learning strategies to live fulfilling lives within their community. ASUSD’s provide a schedule of group activities alongside individual 1:1 support based on strengths and goals identified in recovery plans.
We are seeking several self-motivated, resilient Community Mental Health Practitioners for casual opportunities to work on a 24/7 rotating roster in the Mackay area. You will play an integral role in delivering person-centred services to clients, families and carers and assist people to recover from mental health challenges by developing life skills in a residential setting.
