About the role

The Early Intervention Psychological Support Response Service (EIPSRS) is an outreach service that provides a person-centred approach to recovery which is tailored to meet individual needs. The focus of the service is to support people to achieve their better life goals.

We are seeking a permanent, full time or part time Community Mental Health Practitioner – Peer Practitioner to join the motivated, supportive EIPSRS team. With the opportunity to work from, you will utilise lived experience of mental ill health to engage with clients, families and carers by offering empathetic and positive support as well as safe, recovery orientated mobile services. As this role requires travel within Gippsland and the surrounding area a fully maintained company car is provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilise your own lived experience of mental ill health and recovery to inform your work and the work of the team.
  • Support clients by delivering high quality service and facilitating positive educational and social experiences.
  • Operate collaboratively with a range of services and the community to ensure a co-ordinated and integrated response to the client’s recovery goals.
  • Plan and deliver group programs that aid clients to build their skills and focus on recovery.

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or other health-related field.
  • Lived experience of mental ill health and willingness to use this to inform your work.
  • Expertise in working with people with mental health issues, complex needs, and collaborating with families and carers.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Community Services sector and ability to build strong relationships with agencies, clinical providers and key stakeholders.
