Mind Australia is one of the country’s leading community-managed specialist mental health service providers with a range of residential, mobile outreach, centre based and online services. We have been supporting people living with the day-to-day impacts of mental illness, as well as their families, friends and carers for over 40 years.
We provide practical and motivational support that helps people to develop the skills they need to move on, thrive and improve the quality of their lives. It’s an approach to mental health and wellbeing that looks at the whole person in the context of their daily life. Mind is committed to diversity and social inclusion.
The Youth Residential Rehabilitation Service (YRRS) program works to support young people between the ages of 16-21 years to recover from mental illness by providing up to 12 months stay in a supportive therapeutic environment. Focused on a recovery oriented framework, the service offers opportunities to young people for skill development, enhanced social relationships and community access.
We are seeking self-motivated, empathetic Community Mental Health Practitioners for fixed term, part time (30 hours per week) opportunities to work on a 24/7 rotating roster in the Townsville area. You will support young people to develop their life skills to enable recovery from mental health challenges and deliver person-centred services to clients, families and carers.
