Mind Australia is one of the country’s leading community-managed specialist mental health service providers with a range of residential, mobile outreach, centre based and online services. We have been supporting people living with the day-to-day impacts of mental illness, as well as their families, friends and carers for over 40 years.
We provide practical and motivational support that helps people to develop the skills they need to move on, thrive and improve the quality of their lives. It’s an approach to mental health and wellbeing that looks at the whole person in the context of their daily life. Mind is committed to diversity and social inclusion.
Mind operates Supported Independent Living (SIL) and Short-Term Accommodation services for people with severe and enduring psychosocial disability and often dual disability. SIL residences are staffed 24/7 and funded through NDIS packages, clients are provided with individual supports in a residential setting and within a group when shared learning is seen to be beneficial. Services operate in the context of the local community with a focus on supporting people to achieve their better life goals.
We are seeking several committed Mental Health Support Workers for permanent, part time (30 hours per week) and casual opportunities at our new SIL Haven ‘home away from home’ property in the Shepparton region, opening end of August 2021. Working on a 24/7 rotating roster, you will play an integral role in developing individual programs to support client’s goals and aspirations to achieve recovery and independent living.
