About the role

Mind offers a targeted range of supports and services that aim to maximise recovery outcomes for customers and operate in the context of local community, the focus of the services is to support people to achieve their better life goals which reflects Mind’s Model of Recovery. The Allied Health team provides specialist care to customers in Mind Centres for Mental Health & Wellbeing across Australia.

We have a permanent, full time opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to provide allied health specific and transdisciplinary clinical services to customers with mental health related disability, dual disability and/or complex care needs. Working from home or based in Dandenong, with travel in the surrounding area, you’ll utilise expertise in delivering meaningful client-focused outcomes and demonstrate a commitment to a person-centred approach in providing NDIS and private therapy services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide therapeutic support services to customers including assessment, diagnosis, brief intervention, treatment planning and evaluation, and education and research in line with professional and National Standards.
  • Complete assistive technology and home modification assessments and quotations to support individual goals and independence of customers.
  • Utilise professional judgement to complex cases adapting routine clinical practice based on valid and reliable evidence for customers with complex needs.
  • Collaborate with a range of services and the community to ensure a co-ordinated and integrated response to the client’s recovery goals.

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary degree qualification in Occupation Therapy or other health related field as designated by Mind with the ability to obtain registration with AHPRA.
  • Expertise in working with people with mental health issues, complex needs and interacting with families and carers.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Community Services sector and ability to build strong relationships with service providers and key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and prioritise to meet customer service delivery requirements.
