About the role

Mind operates Supported Independent Living (SIL) and Short-Term Accommodation services for people with severe and enduring psychosocial disability and often dual disability. SIL residences are staffed 24/7 and funded through NDIS packages, clients are provided with individual supports in a residential setting and within a group when shared learning is seen to be beneficial. Services operate in the context of the local community with a focus on supporting people to achieve their better life goals.

We are seeking an experienced, driven Service Manager for a permanent, full time opportunity at our new SIL Haven ‘home away from home’ property in the Shepparton region, opening end of August 2021. Leading and managing the all aspects of the program, you will ensure provision of high standard service delivery consistent with Mind’s My Better Life model and organisational values for residents, families and carers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor effective practice to staff and manage services to clients, families and carers in line with the My Better Life model.
  • Provide leadership to ensure high quality service delivery of safe, effective recovery orientated care.
  • Guide a high performing team by engaging staff, setting clear direction and performance expectations.
  • Deliver targeted and integrated case managed responses to clients by holding a reduced caseload.
  • Manage and be accountable for achievement of service performance and budget targets.

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other health-related field.
  • Expertise in working with people with mental health issues, intellectual disability and ASD, complex needs and interacting with families and carers.
  • Proven leadership and management skills and ability to manage a mobile workforce is desirable.
  • Successful track record in relationship development, management and strategic partnerships.
  • Experience in financial management, budget control and reporting.
