Mind Australia is one of the country’s leading community-managed specialist mental health service providers with a range of residential, mobile outreach, centre based and online services. We have been supporting people living with the day-to-day impacts of mental illness, as well as their families, friends and carers for over 40 years.
We provide practical and motivational support that helps people to develop the skills they need to move on, thrive and improve the quality of their lives. It’s an approach to mental health and wellbeing that looks at the whole person in the context of their daily life. Mind is committed to diversity and social inclusion.
The Way Back Support (WBS) service is a non-clinical support service focused on providing practical psychosocial support to people experiencing a suicidal crisis or who have attempted suicide. The service supports at risk clients to stay safe, builds capacity of individuals to self-manage distress, improves mental wellbeing, and promotes links with support networks as well as clinical and community services to meet individual needs.
We are seeking a passionate, motivated Support Coordinator for a permanent, part time opportunity (3 days per week) to work with the close knit WBS team in the Bendigo area. You will be responsible for providing non-clinical care and psychosocial support for clients following a suicide attempt or suicidal crisis to ultimately reduce the risk of suicide attempts.
