Your Opportunity

FLO is a student enrolment strategy, aimed to support the engagement and retention of young people in secondary school who are identified at risk of disengaging from a mainstream school based learning.

As a Case Manager, your key responsibility is to deliver Mission Australia's case management services to young people under the Department for Education (DfE) Deed of Agreement.  You will play a key role in assisting students who are facing multiple issues/barriers to successful school engagement, positive learning outcomes and employment.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Undertake detailed assessments to support desired client educational, training and/or employment outcomes
  • Deliver individually tailored case management services and activities to clients
  • Facilitate with group sessions for clients where necessary and appropriate such as living skills, budgeting, SACE module etc
  • Build strong relationships with all stakeholders whilst actively advocating for our young people
  • Maintain accurate, up-to date and compliant case records at all times

Qualifications & experience

  • Qualified in one or more of the following: Cert IV in Youth Work or Youth Justice Bachelor in Social Work or Psychology, or Cert IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (Child Protection) or higher as minimum qualifications are essential
  • FLO Experience is essential
  • Proven history of working with young people with high and complex needs
  • Successful experience in providing services to young people at risk, both individually and in groups
  • Senior First Aid Certificate an advantage
  • Current & valid Working with Children clearance
  • A Current Driver's License
  • A strong alignment to Mission Australia's purpose and values
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment

Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
