Your Opportunity

An exciting new community development role has opened up for the right person.  The Place and Community - Community Development Officer (CDO) will be leading community engagement activities with North Melbourne Community Partner of the Paving the Way Forward (PTWF) Project in partnership with the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH).  The Place and Community CDO will focus on working with residents to ensure residents feel safe, supported and connected to their communities and spaces.

For this role you will need to be someone who has:

• Relevant community development paid or unpaid experience and/or relevant qualifications and /or relevant qualifications and
• Exceptional connections to residents of the North Melbourne public housing estate either as a current resident or someone who has very strong links and networks within these communities

North Melbourne Language and Learning (NMLL), Drummond Street Services (DSS) and Mission Australia (MA) have formed a partnership to deliver this initiative for North Melbourne. This is one of three community development roles that are currently being advertised for this project on the North Melbourne public housing estate. Please also refer to the advertisements from DSS (Service and Partnerships) and NMLL (Resident Voice) roles.

Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
