Your Opportunity

Working to the State Director WA/NT, the Regional Leader Community Services Operations will lead and manage a team of approximately 200 FTE to the deliver almost 50 community service programs located in metropolitan and regional Western Australia.

Success in this role can be seen through both strategic direction setting as well as maintaining an operational focus, including the agility to move between both.

The programs in this portfolio address critical community need and focus on Homelessness, Alcohol and Drug Services, Youth at Risk, Mental Health, Family Support, Family and Domestic Violence and Financial wellbeing.  Your role will be to lead and manage your team ensuring they provide high quality and compliant service to all individuals, families and communities. 

 Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Lead and develop your management team with a focus on continuous improvement in quality and performance
  • Work closely with leadership in the state to drive strategic direction, operational excellence and compliance.
  • Manage contract negotiations and ensure contract commitments are delivered in line with funders requirements
  • Provide high level reporting to funders and supports
  • Contributing to tenders and effective coordination of budgets
  • Build and maintain relationships across the community services sector including funders, partners and other peak bodies.
  • Demonstrate leadership across Western Australia through empowering and growing the capacity of teams
  • Build relationships and leverage the expertise of  Mission Australia’s extensive enabling and support functions to maintain and enhance the delivery of services
  • Manage and minimise all areas of risk including safely, compliance and contract requirements.

Requirements for Success

  • Demonstrated experience in leading high performing teams across multisite locations
  • Demonstrated experience in building the capacity of teams to deliver performance.
  • Strong capability in managing large budgets from multiple funding sources.
  • Demonstrated experience from across the public sector, community services and/or related industries
  • Ability to build effective stakeholder relationships, including community, not for profit, government and corporate stakeholders
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with existing systems and processes and complete reporting and written communication required for this role.
  • Demonstrated commitment to community and social outcomes and a personal alignment with the culture and values of Mission Australia
  • Ideally a Tertiary qualification in leadership, community services or similar related industry however not essential
