Katherine Sobering Up Shelter (Yarrlalah) provides overnight accommodation to men and women over 18, assessed as under the influence of alcohol or other drugs and delivered to the shelter by NT Police or Night Patrol. Shelter staff provide client referrals to other services which may be able to assist client focus group improve their lifestyles.
As a Support Worker, you will provide care to intoxicated clients admitted to the shelter, including but not limited to, completing admission and discharge procedures and evaluating clients to determine whether the shelter is the safest place to sober up.
Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
