Mmvllen’s purpose is to improve education, training and employment outcomes for young people with a focus on supporting young people experiencing disadvantage, discrimination, social isolation and from low socio-economic backgrounds in the Maribyrnong and Moonee Valley region.
WE DO THIS BY:
- Brokering and facilitating strategic partnerships and programs to support sustainable outcomes and addressing gaps in our community
- Developing and facilitating collaborative approaches towards planned improvement and provision of education, training and employment
- Engaging with appropriate stakeholders from education, training, business and industry, community and cultural organisations, government bodies and commissions, to achieve our vision across the community
We have an exciting new role for a Project Officer (Industry and Stakeholder Engagement) to join the team.
Working directly to influence or maintain relationships with local business and industry to broker industry immersion activities to increase the careers, pathways opportunities for local young people.
Also working with key stakeholders including school coordinators, community organisations and local government in partnership with mmvllen team members - you will be facilitating activities including work experience, structured workplace learning, guest speakers, practice interview events, programs and industry tours.
As well as working to deliver programs that broker partnerships between industry and schools for young people, you will support the marketing and revenue raising strategies as directed by the Program Manager with the support of the Business Development roles.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION INCLUDE:
- Proactively develop and maintain excellent relationships with business and industry to ensure delivery of industry immersion activities and programs
- Support schools that enable the facilitation of school-industry activities, events, programs and projects to increase secondary school students’ awareness of post school career pathways
- Prepare, research and plan projects and activities to maximise their engagement, output and outcomes
- Support the marketing and revenue raising strategies of the organisation
- Work collaboratively with the mmvllen team and board to achieve organisational goals
As a full charity with PBI status we can provide salary packaging options up to $18,550 per FBT year to significantly increase take home pay.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA:
- Ability to persuade and influence business and industry stakeholders to deliver industry immersion activities for schools/young people
- Ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with key stakeholders – business/industry and schools
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of the issues facing young people in relation to careers, pathways, education, training and employment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to maximise internal and external relationships
- Outstanding program planning and performance management skills
- Knowledge of recent senior secondary reforms (or willing to learn)
- Excellent record keeping ability that can produce quality written reports, maintain database of activities and stakeholder details
- Current driver’s licence, access to own vehicle and full comprehensive insurance
Desirable
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, marketing, community, education, training
- Experience working in a small team
- Experience working or volunteering in and/or knowledge of the Not-for-Profit sector in Australia
- Experience with marketing and or/revenue raising strategies
HOURS
22.8 hours per week (0.6EFT)
Checks
All mmvllen employees are required to have a current working with children check card, a police check (undertaken by mmvllen) and agree to mmvllen’s child safety and COVID safe policies. You will be required to provide evidence of a COVID-19 including vaccination certificate
SALARY
$76,000-$80,000 per annum pro rata + Superannuation
