Our maternity service is the largest maternity provider in Victoria providing care to over 9,000 women each year across three hospitals: Monash Medical Centre, Dandenong and Casey. Monash Women's provides maternity care for well women and women with more complex and specialty needs.

A Day in the life of a Registered Midwife at Monash health

No two days will be the same, and this is what is challenging and exciting about coming into work within our skilled nursing workforce

Our midwives love coming to work every day to be able to provide holistic, women centred care for our patients. You’ll enjoy the variety and challenge that comes from working with likeminded skilled senior staff and clinical mentors, while being supported by others across the program and across our large, complex health service.

We are looking for Registered Midwives interested in a supportive refresher or upskilling program at three busy metropolitan maternity units at Monash Health. Positions are available at Monash Women’s sites, Clayton, Dandenong and Casey.

Initially you will be provided support and education in our maternity wards and birth suites by highly skilled educators, clinical support staff and your supportive colleagues. This flexible program will be customised to meet your learning needs and you will be expected to fully participate in the education plan and gaining of midwifery competencies to enable you to provide full maternity care.

Once confidence and competence is achieved through this supportive return to practice, staff can work towards gaining experience in other maternity areas including Extended Postnatal care and maternity clinic.

We have both part-time and full-time opportunities available; regardless of your hours you will need to participate in a rotating roster across seven (7) days and all shifts.
