The Program

The Bushfire Resilience Program is a partnership between Monash University, the Paul Ramsay Foundation, Metal Manufactures Pty Ltd and The Australian Centre for Social Innovation formed in response to the 2019/2020 Australian bushfires. The Program aims to work closely with four communities experiencing disadvantage and that were affected by the bushfires over 5 years to develop an inclusive, participatory and evidence-based model for strengthening resilience across social, built, natural, institutional and economic domains. The consortium approach has a significant focus on supporting communities to lead their own local initiatives and connect with each other to create the capacity, conditions and solutions for their long-term resilience.

The Opportunity

As Network Manager you will take responsibility for developing strategic objectives, designing, planning, delivery and implementation of the National Learning Network as the key ongoing legacy of the five-year Bushfire Resilience Program.

Working closely with the Executive Lead – Network, your role will include the development and implementation of a strategic framework, project structure, business case and implementation plan to create the Learning Network. You will achieve this through the development of strong relationships with Learning Network partners and stakeholders, and providing advice to the program Executive on mechanisms for advancing the Learning Network objects and outcomes.

As the successful candidate you will have a sound knowledge of the role of community-led programs and learning networks, demonstrated experience in working in a matrix management structure, working with funding partners and exceptional project management skills. You will have an aptitude for working with ambiguity and complexity and a passion for foregrounding community voice in influencing change.

This is an ideal opportunity to drive real, substantial change and make a significant positive impact to local communities. If you believe you can fulfil these requirements, you are strongly encouraged to apply.

This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.

Travel to regional and rural project sites will be required.

At Monash University, we are committed to being a Child Safe organisation. Some positions at the University will require the incumbent to hold a valid Working with Children Check.
