The Opportunity

This Research Fellowship is a three-year fixed-term position which aims to develop and conduct research in international and sustainable development themes.

In this role you will apply your experience working in the developing world context to contribute to ongoing and emerging research projects in the Lab and collaborate with the interdisciplinary project research teams, governments, businesses and communities in Australia and internationally.

To succeed in this role, you will bring a proven capacity in two or more of the following areas:

  • Urban informality
  • Urban morphologies, typologies, and public space
  • International development, upscaling and replication
  • Revitalisation of informal settlements/slum upgrading
  • Design and implementation of international development projects
  • Community organisation and participatory planning
  • Processes and tools for designers in data poor environments

As the Research Fellow you will also assist in project planning and monitoring, stakeholder liaison and management, and communication activities, provide expert advice and manage major change initiatives to support the delivery of project outcomes.

This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.
