The Organisation

ClimateWorks Australia bridges the gap between research and climate action to accelerate the transition to net zero emissions for Australia, Southeast Asia and the Pacific. ClimateWorks’s Industry System is working with some of Australia’s largest companies to drive action towards achieving net zero emissions in heavy industry. Our partners are from industry and business sectors which are key to decarbonising critical and often harder to abate industrial supply chains.

The Opportunity

ClimateWorks is seeking a Senior Analyst with excellent content development and translation skills that is able to thrive in a complex environment and able to translate technical knowledge and effectively communicate insights to the stakeholders that hold the keys to decarbonisation. This exciting new Senior Analyst role within the Industry System team will be responsible for developing targeted content and messaging in the form of written reports, presentations, and data visualisations. Through translating research, analysis and other insights, you will help achieve the desired systems change through a range of impactful communications and informal outputs designed to influence and inspire business and government audiences as well as to shift the public narrative. Your writing will also be informed by your knowledge of the Australian industrial sector and their regions, familiarity with sustainability concepts and technologies, and understanding of the needs and perspectives of key stakeholders in government, industry and in the finance sector.

This role will initially focus on the Australian Industry Energy Transitions Initiative (ETI) which aims to accelerate action towards achieving net zero emissions in Australia’s key heavy industry supply chains. As part of the program’s Engagement Team reporting into the Engagement Lead, you will contribute to the program outputs as well as shaping and promoting a shared participant narrative on the feasibility and opportunities of a transition to net zero emissions in heavy industry supply chains. You will work closely with ETI project stakeholders, both internal and external, to create and deliver outputs in accordance with agreed timeframes, design briefs and budgets, and will collaborate with ClimateWorks’ Centres of Excellence, particularly the Communications team.

This role would suit a well-rounded candidate with a ‘can do’ attitude, some experience of delivering within large, complex programs, and a passion for making a difference.

This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.

At Monash University, we are committed to being a Child Safe organisation. Some positions at the University will require the incumbent to hold a valid Working with Children Check.
