This is a new role with a growing organisation dedicated to the care and welfare of our native wildlife. The successful applicant will work collaboratively with the rest of the team to raise funds and promote Mosswood Wildlife ensuring its long-term sustainability.

Mosswood Wildlife is a not-for-profit organisation based in South West Victoria, committed to the preservation of Australia’s wildlife and natural environment, while working towards becoming a self-sustaining organisation. In addition to caring for wildlife, we support the community, educate the public and build relationships to avoid unnecessary harm to our native animals.

Position Description:

Where: Based in Koroit, South West Victoria, Australia (with scope of working remotely)

Hours: Part-time role - Two days a week

Pay: SCHARDS award - Level 4 - $74,170 - $79,800 + superannuation

Term: 12 month contract, with the intent to extend (pending future funding)

Reports to: Organisation Secretary

Commencement: ASAP

This is an exciting time to be joining Mosswood Wildlife. When the world stopped because of Covid-19 in 2020, we actually blossomed and saw tremendous growth within our organisation and we need you, to help keep this momentum going. In collaboration with IFAW (International Fund for Animal Welfare), we have created this new opportunity for a fundraising/marketing professional to join our team.

In this position you will take the lead on our fundraising and will be pivotal in driving supporter growth and will be responsible for the development of data-driven, donor-centred fundraising, which includes campaigns, supporter acquisition and engaging our supporters. You will implement campaigns, to increase income for Mosswood Wildlife’s important work, while working in conjunction with Mosswood Wildlife’s committee.

The role is responsible for:

Fundraising:

  • In collaboration with the Committee; designing, implementing, and managing innovative fundraising campaigns to acquire new supporters and deepen supporter engagement.
  • Development and maintaining a member and supporter database that includes managing supporter communications.

Grant management:

  • Identifying grants applicable to Mosswood Wildlife, assist with writing, submit proposals and applications.
  • Ensure projects are meeting obligations, donor expectations and requirements.

Other duties:

  • Identifying refinements of the Mosswood Wildlife website, for content and functionality to support fundraising initiatives.
  • Provide written report of fundraising and marketing activities for general meetings held quarterly.
  • Other duties as directed by the organisation secretary.

Required

  • Extensive knowledge of fundraising opportunities and likely success.
  • Experience and success with grants applications and acquittals.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage a wide variety of diverse relationships and stakeholders.
  • Strong written, verbal and cross-cultural communication.
  • Outstanding planning and organisational ability.
  • Proficient in various computer applications relevant to the role.

Desirable:

  • Experience in mainstream media
  • Knowledge in website development and management
  • Experience in creating newsletters

Remuneration:

  • SCHARDS award - Level 4 - $74,170 - $79,800 + superannuation.
  • 4 weeks annual leave with 17.5% loading.

Essential Selection Criteria:

  • Proven and successful fundraising experience
  • Previous grants management competency
  • Strong communication abilities - both verbal and written
  • Able to work unsupervised
  • Exceptional organisational skills
  • Being based in South West Victoria highly preferred, but for the right applicant, working remotely is a possibility
