What is the purpose of this role & how does it contribute to MSL’s business strategy?

  • The talented Event Fundraising Team is responsible for income generation through physical and virtual events/campaigns to help fund multiple sclerosis services and research.

Your responsibilities are:

  • The planning and delivery of participant acquisition campaigns for our portfolio of events, including MS Gong Ride, MS Melbourne Run & Ride Festival, MS Mega Challenge, MS Walk, Run & Roll.
  • Implementing campaigns that consist of a mix of marketing tactics, and rising to the challenge of marketing for mass event participation in a COVID world to give prospective event participants confidence & a reason to register for our events.
  • Managing event commercial sponsors to ensure long lasting and mutually beneficial partnerships.
  • Line manager for three positions that assist with the delivery of this role: (Marketing Coordinator, Social Media & Digital Specialist, Websites & Platform Manager.)
  • Working alongside the Manager, Event Marketing & Fundraising, you & your team are responsible for the recruitment of 25,000+ participants annually into MSL-led events/campaigns.
  • You will be busy, juggling multiple event marketing campaigns at the same time (30+ events per year), but you’ll get enormous satisfaction out of the great job you do.

The role can be based at our Blackburn (Melbourne) or St Leonards (Sydney) office, is full-time with a competitive salary. Now about you

  • You will have significant experience in:
    • Digital marketing (social, SEO, SEM, Google Analytics);
    • Marketing automation (EDM communication platforms)
    • Copywriting
    • Project management
    • Building & maintaining relationships (event sponsors)
    • Website UX & optimisation knowledge
  • You will have great communication skills (written & oral) plus strong interpersonal skills.
  • You will be creative & innovative, flexible and collaborative with a strong client & customer focus.
  • You will definitely be results-driven, with financial & time management skills, and attention to detail.
  • You will have experience as a people manager with the ability to effectively support, grow & manage your team.

One more thing:

If successful, you will need to complete a National Police Check (and possibly an International Police Check).

We provide evidence-based advice, information, education, employment support, and around the clock support through our residential care services, as well as contributing funds to MS research.
