We're looking for Endorsed Enrolled Nurses who have an interest in acute clinical and perioperative care and who are wanting to join this fantastic organisation.

We currently have part time, full time and casual positions available at the following clinics:

  • Melbourne
  • Sydney
  • Brisbane
  • Gold Coast
  • Townsville
  • Rockhampton
  • Midland

We also have roles available for Midwives and Registered Nurses.

We also have opportunities for regular day shifts between 0630-1800hrs which really gives you the flexibility to have the work life balance that you never did in the hospital.

We are an independent, non-profit organisation dedicated to ensuring sexual and reproductive health services are equally accessible to all people living in Australia. Marie Stopes Australia is the only national accredited provider of abortion, contraception and vasectomy services, and the country’s longest running provider of teleabortion. Our holistic, client-centred approach empowers individuals to control their reproductive health safely, and with dignity, regardless of their circumstances. Through active partnerships with healthcare providers, researchers and communities, our models of care ensure the total wellbeing of our clients is supported at every stage.

Your purpose:

  • Provide empathetic, safe and high-quality nursing care in a perioperative environment
  • Assist in Emergency Care throughout the clinic
  • Apply Universal Infection Control principles
  • Safe Medication Administration
  • Rotate between the roles of admissions and discharges, PACU and perioperative services
  • Think and act on your feet in a fast paced day surgical environment
  • Provide Clinical Risk Assessment
  • Liaise with other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team
  • Support our Quality & Safety program by participating in all clinical quality initiatives and projects
  • Challenge the norm and be creative in your work processes and flow

What we need:

  • Nurse/Midwife with AHPRA registration
  • A Pro-choice advocate
  • Refined assessment skills
  • Active and reflective listening skills with an understanding of how to provide empathetic care
  • Person centred reproductive health care focus is essential
  • Knowledge of National Accreditation Standards
  • A strong patient centred care advocate
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Exceptional empathy
  • A passionate professional who is wanting to challenge their practice and learnings to develop their career

What we'd like to see (but aren't essential):

  • Family Planning Certificate or Midwifery qualification
  • Maternity, reproductive, and/or sexual health experience
  • Previous day surgical and DOSA nursing experience
  • Previous perioperative and PACU nursing experience
