An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Market Research Analyst to join a leading charitable organisation dedicated to serving the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of children and families suffering the effects of poverty in Eastern Europe.

We are looking for a methodical Market Research Analyst to survey donor preferences and statistical data in order to support donors during their decision-making process regarding our available programs, appeals and projects.

The successful market researcher will be able to work independently. By analysing quantative and qualitative data, trends, fundraising strategies and competition, you will aim to expand our supporter database.

THE POSITION

This is a permanent full-time position of 37.5 hours per week (5 days per week), with an initial contract term of one year.

The role involves collecting data on donors, competitors and the fundraising marketplace and consolidating information into actionable items, reports and presentations. You will also have an understanding of business objectives and of designing surveys to discover prospective donor preferences. Tasks will include compiling and analyzing statistical data using modern and traditional methods to collect it.

We are seeking a person to establish our Regional Queensland office. Reporting to the National Country Director for Australia, the Market Research Analyst utilises knowledge and data to determine the wants and needs of the organisation’s donors. Efficiently researching both the market and our organisation’s own database, is essential for creating successful fundraising methods. Identifying effective fundraising products and services, planning advertising and marketing strategies, and evaluating the best marketing channels will lead to achieving planned objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Planning, developing and organising marketing policies and campaigns to support fundraising objectives.
  • Advising management on marketing strategies and campaigns to reach potential donor demographics
  • Creating donor awareness and effectively promoting the attributes of MWB’s humanitarian aid programs to supporters in regional areas of Queensland
  • Co-ordinating production of marketing campaigns involving specialised activities within time and budget constraints, such as artwork, copywriting, media scripting, radio, television and film production and media placement.
  • Analysing data from Progress CRM regarding donor retention, donor lifecycle and preferences.
  • Interpreting and predicting current and future donor trends.
  • Researching potential fundraising opportunities and market characteristics for introducing new humanitarian aid programs, as well as collecting and analysing the data from Progress CRM and other statistical information.
  • Supporting business growth and development through the preparation and execution of marketing objectives, policies and programs.
  • Commissioning and undertaking donor research to identify market opportunities for new and existing programs and services.
  • Advising on all elements of fundraising marketing such as product mix, product lifecycle, average gift values, marketing and promotion, donor response rates, and fundraising channels.

ESSENTIAL ATTRIBUTES:

  • Proven Market Research Analysis experience
  • Previous experience with Progress CRM database program
  • Previous experience in business communications with Church Leaders
  • Excellent knowledge of statistical packages (SPSS, SAS or similar), databases and Advanced Microsoft Access and Excel Skills
  • Working knowledge of data warehousing, modelling and mining
  • Ability to interpret large amounts of data and to multi-task
  • Search engines, web analytics and business research tools acumen
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and/or unsupervised
  • Adequate knowledge of data collection methods (polls, focus groups, surveys etc)
  • Excellent time management
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Australian resident status
