Myeloma Australia was formed in 1998 by a small number of driven people who discovered that a myeloma diagnosis was often slow and uncertain, and that reliable information and access to support was scarce.
It is the only myeloma specific not-for-profit organisation in the country. We exist to support, inform, empower and bring hope to people living with myeloma, their families, friends and health professionals through our nurse-led model of care. We also raise community awareness, provide funding for research and advocate for reimbursement of new therapies on the pharmaceutical benefits scheme.
In this position you will be accountable to the Board of Myeloma Australia for implementing its mission and vision and oversee activities within each of our departments (support services, nursing services, fundraising and advocacy).
You will have responsibility for the overall performance of Myeloma Australia and for keeping the Board informed of all events and circumstances which have, or may be likely to have, a material impact on the Organisation.

To be successful you will have five (5) or more years’ experience as a CEO in the not for profit/charitable sector or be a senior corporate executive looking for a career change. With relevant tertiary qualifications, you will have strong presentation and strategic management skills and demonstrated experience in networking, negotiations, and relationship management.
As a confident and influential communicator, you will demonstrate values consistent with those of Myeloma Australia and have a strong focus on integrity and empathy while providing strong leadership that inspires and encourages a positive future for staff and the myeloma community.
Your existing relationships within government, the pharmaceutical industry and health care system are highly desirable.
