My Place

My Place

Have you ever considered sharing a home with a person with a disability?

My Place is an organisation that works in partnership with each person with a disability to pursue the lifestyle of their choice and to have their individual needs met by people they choose and trust.

My Place is currently looking for Housemates to move in with and provide live-in support to a young man with a disability who currently lives in his own three-bedroom home in Mosman Park. He enjoys going to the gym, the beach, swimming, and general outdoor activities. He also loves music and animals. He likes routine and preparation and is supported by his loving family who live nearby.

The successful applicant will receive free accommodation and an attractive salary in exchange for providing support while living at the home (ideally 2-3 days per week). The support involves assistance with aspects of day-to-day life which may include daily living support, domestic assistance and accessing the community. Whilst previous experience is not essential, it is highly preferred as well as a genuine desire to share your life and be prepared to work to make a positive difference by enriching someone else’s life, as well as your own.

My Place will provide Senior First Aid Training, two-day Orientation training as well as any additional training required and will also provide you with ongoing support from one of our Co-ordinators. You will need to undergo a medical and successful completion of the NDIS Workers screening and NDIS Worker Orientation module.

For further information about the role please contact Karen Cullen on 0448 844 979.
