Due to an expansion of NAAFLS service delivery areas, we are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Legal Assistant - Case Worker for our new Nhulunbuy Office.
The Legal Assistant - Case Worker will work collaboratively with the NAAFLS Solicitors to develop and implement case plans with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander clients, including assisting to help clients set and achieve their goals, while identifying evidence that will be meaningful in associated legal cases. Relevant experience in delivering case work services in an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community services environment is required. The ability to provide an accessible and culturally sensitive legal service, and to understand the needs of culturally diverse client is essential. Availability to undertake overnight travel to remote communities, up to 2 x 4-day trips per month.
It is a requirement that prior to commencing in any of these roles, you must possess an Ochre Card (Working with Children Clearance), a National Criminal History Check (within 3 months) and a current Northern Territory driver’s licence or the ability to obtain one.
