An incredible opportunity is now available to work with the Nawarddeken Academy, delivering education to students within the Warddeken Indigenous Protected Area of west Arnhem Land. A region that is exceptional in its natural and cultural value and breathtaking in its beauty.
The Academy was recently granted registration to begin the delivery of education in Mamadawerre on 27/9/21 and Manmoyi 18/10/21, expanding from 1 to 3 very remote schools. The Academy has been operating at Kabulwarnamyo since 2015, registered to teach students from Transition to Year 7 in a multi-age classroom context.
It is essential that applicants have a deep respect and passion for working with First Nations people and can develop strong relationships within the Warddeken community. These positions will be based at either Manmoyi, Mamadawerre or Kabulwarnamyo.
This position is responsible for the delivery of education to a multi-age class within the Nawarddeken Academy – an independently registered Indigenous school in remote western Arnhem Land. The Academy is registered to teach students from Transition to Year 7, however, the school also enrols and delivers education for older students providing a post primary or middle school curriculum where required. The position may involve supporting an Early Learning cohort.
The Classroom Teacher is expected to be proactive in their approach to all aspects of this position and must demonstrate significant initiative in delivering education in a complex remote context. The teaching and learning environment often necessitate the development and implementation of unique, creative and flexible strategies to ensure effective program delivery.
This position has the following core duties with other duties as assigned by the Senior Teacher and CEO/Principal.
