About the role

Northside now has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Chief Financial Officer to join their team in Canberra on a full-time, Ongoing basis.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for the overall financial management of Northside, including strategic reporting, advice on financial performance, financial systems development and maintenance, payroll procurement and supplier management, and compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory standards.

The key responsibilities and duties for the role will include (but not be limited to):

  • The CFO is responsible for leading and developing a high-performing Finance and ICT team, including ensuring effective systems and processes are embedded, and timely and accurate reporting provided to Managers, the Executive, and the Northside Board.
  • The role has a direct relationship with the Board to ensure compliance with all required statutory and corporate governance requirements.
  • Lead collaborative and commercially focused financial planning processes, and ensure effective planning cycles within finance and business operations are aligned with Northside’s strategic direction.

About You

To be considered for this position you will need to meet the following criteria (but not limited to):

  • Tertiary level accounting qualifications and membership of CPA Australia, Chartered Accountants ANZ or similar professional body.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Chief Financial Officer or a Financial Controller.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management experience in working with, advising and/or supporting CEOs, Executives, and Boards.
  • A track record of leading, motivating and developing high performing teams.
