About the Role:

  • Full-time, 38 hours, 5 days per week  
  • Fixed-term contract until 30 June 2024 

This role will manage and deliver a range of sector support and development programs and initiatives, to build the capacity and capability of disability services in WA. The position plays a critical role in coordinating a range of sub- committees, training, information events and forums. The position works across all levels of the WA division and supports sector development projects.

In this role, you should be passionate about supporting people across the disability sector to learn and grow. The role involves developing and managing positive constructive relationships and networks with internal and external stakeholders to identify sector development needs and opportunities. The role involves designing, sourcing and facilitating solutions, workshops, forums and training to meet those needs whilst working closely with the NDS National Learning and Development Team. It is expected that the position holder is aligned to, and demonstrates NDS’s values of respect, teamwork and collaboration, leadership, innovation, and accountability at all times. 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strong sector support and stakeholder engagement to identify current and emerging sector development trends and needs
  2.  Delivery of sector support and development activities and initiatives that meets the needs of disability service providers in the sector
  3. Support WA Project Leads and Managers in the planning and delivery of training and development initiatives and events
  4. Drives and leads sector support and development in a contemporary and responsive manner
  5. Manage all operational aspects of Sector Support and Development
  6. Accountability - Upholds the values of NDS and leads by example  
  7. Undertake other duties as required

Skills & Experience:

  1. Extensive experience in the disability services sector or in a role providing consultancy, peak body and or member led services that supports the capacity and capability of a sector, this may include identifying needs and coordinating a training calendar of workshops, conferences, and forums
  2. Demonstrated capacity to determine requirements of key stakeholders based on trends and opportunities and create tailored solutions that are customer and member focused
  3. High level consultation, communication, and interpersonal skills with the demonstrated capacity to engage successfully with a range of external and internal stakeholders to achieve results
  4.  Strong project management skills and proven capacity to plan, lead a team and manage projects with multiple priorities
  5.  Advanced computer literacy and the ability to develop professional and well articulated resources
  6.  Qualifications in organisational development, business or community services will be well regarded
  7.  Independent travel capability.
