  • Casual and part time positions available

The opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen at JMHSS for an experienced Enrolled/Registered Nurse to join a dedicated team of individuals to provide nursing interventions within a step up step down setting. This role represents a wonderful opportunity for the successful candidate to gain valuable experience working within a recovery model of service delivery in a supportive team environment. The staffing model has been designed to increase the frequency and span of nursing care of consumers.

You will:

  • Draw on your nursing skills to assess consumer’s mental and physical health needs as required and formulate a plan of care accordingly
  • Provide direct practical support to consumers to assist them to achieve their recovery goals
  • Work with consumers both individually and within a group setting
  • Work in collaboration with families, carers and other service providers

What will you bring to the role?

As an Enrolled/Registered Nurse you will have Current registration with AHPRA, along with demonstrated experience in the field. Our ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the issues faced by individuals in the region including those identifying from a CALD or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background.

Other essential skills and experiences we are looking for include:

  • The ability to work in a team environment
  • Endorsement to administer medications, or working towards / commitment to undertake an accredited medication administration course
  • Relevant clinical experience working within a recovery setting is desirable
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment
  • Competent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of local services particularly relevant to designated program area
  • The ability to form and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • Be able to work with individuals from diverse and unique backgrounds
  • Be an honest and transparent individual
