  • HPSS Award Level 2 or Nurses Award Level 2. Salary between 79k - 88k + super + salary packaging
  • Location: Head to Heath service Geelong

The Head to Health Geelong (HTHG) centre is an exciting new service which provides the Geelong community an alternative service to attend when experiencing mental health crisis. Service delivery will reflect principals of Trauma Informed Care and Recovery Oriented practice.

The Mental Health Clinicians are exciting roles responsible for providing high quality services to guests experiencing mental health crisis presenting to Head to Health Geelong.

As an Allied Health Professional, the Mental Health Clinician will draw on their discipline skills, engage with the guests (consumers), other clinicians, the guest’s treatment team, Neami Lived Experience staff and family/friends/carers to provide high quality assessments and interventions. The Mental Health Clinician will have a strong emphasis on preparing the guest to transition home. This work will focus on clinical assessment and collaborative care planning.

The HTHG centre will operate in accordance with a 7 day per week rotating roster which may include a late morning and afternoon /evening shifts to service operational requirements.

What will you bring?

  • Engage guests and develop trusting and professional relationships
  • Provide brief and detailed assessment and collaborative care plans to guests. The objective of Exit Planning is to minimise the risk of relapse of the guests following leaving
  • Engage guests, using a strengths-based approach to complete a mental health status measurement and a needs assessment.
  • Work within a holistic framework taking into account the needs of the guests, family, carers and other members of the community in order to ensure tangible outcomes

Mandatory requirements:

  • Neami National will require, as part of our condition of employment, that all candidates applying for any position must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 (or have received one dose of an approved COVID-19 vaccine and have a scheduled appointment to receive their second dose.)
  • Candidates will be required to provide appropriate evidence of COVID-19 vaccination to Neami National.
  • Formal tertiary qualification in Nursing, Psychology, Social Work or Occupational Therapy
  • Accredited registration with a professional governing body such as AHPRA, ACA, AASW
  • Current Vic Working with Children Check
  • Police check (refer to PD) – disclosable outcomes considered
  • Willingness to undergo a Disability Worker’s Exclusion Scheme (DWES) Check
